‘Beyond the Eagle Obsession’ Screens for the First Time in St. Paul

Beyond the Eagle Obsession met its first audience on Saturday night, August 22, at the Bill Pohlad Cinema at FilmNorth in Saint Paul.

Director Jeffrey Morris brought the new Zica Eagle with him — the model featured in the film — and set it up on the reception table as guests arrived. It drew a crowd before the doors even opened, with attendees gathering around it and talking through the details. Moments later they were watching it on screen.

The room was full, and the response was enthusiastic throughout. The evening closed with a thirty-minute Q and A, in which Morris discussed the film’s practical effects work and the reasoning behind its approach to documentary filmmaking. The questions ran until the session had to be called.

Beyond the Eagle Obsession will premiere at the Twin Cities Film Festival this October. The date will be announced shortly.
