New Kickstarter: ‘The Eagle Obsession’ Miniature FX Project
We’re thrilled to announce our new Kickstarter campaign for The Eagle Obsession Miniature FX Project – an exciting, fan-driven recreation of the original Eagle model work seen in Space: 1999.
This Kickstarter was inspired by our love of the authentic, tangible special effects of the 1970s. With CGI being the go-to for modern visual effects, there’s something about physical miniatures, moving cameras, and hand-painted backgrounds that feels irreplaceable. Many of us miss that hands-on, practical effects approach, which is why we’re creating a series of real miniature FX shots for The Eagle Obsession, featuring the iconic Eagle Transporter from Space: 1999.
Our initial funding goal is $9,000, which will cover the costs of constructing Eagles and filming several shots of them flying through space, plus producing them as a bonus segment of the documentary. And when we reach that target, even more exciting stretch goals will follow! Backers will have access to some incredible rewards, including exclusive artwork by John Eaves, limited-edition Blu-rays of the movie, caps, mugs, and more.
By fans, for fans—this project wouldn’t be possible without the support of this amazing community, and we can’t wait to bring The Eagle Obsession to life with your help.
