Nick Tate and Jeffrey Morris talk Eagle Documentary in MovieWeb Features
Nick Tate, who played Alan Carter in the popular 1970s sci-fi series Space: 1999, talks about The Eagle Has Landed in a new MovieWeb article.
As for the upcoming documentary, The Eagle Has Landed, which is expected to drop in 2025, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the show,Tate is intrigued with where filmmaker Jeffrey Morris will take the production. “They’re constructing a whole Eagle Transporter back in England right now, so that we can get in it and do some scenes in it. They’re making a little kind of a drama in the documentary, just a few moments, which is going to be quite fun. We’re looking forward to that.”
In a separate article, Jeffrey Morris tells MovieWeb about his fascination with the Eagle from Space: 1999 and how it shaped his aspirations to become a filmmaker.
“A lot of us grew up thinking, ‘I want to grow up and fly that thing. I want to be an astronaut. I want to go up there, be on the moon base, be part of that whole thing.’ That’s part of why the show resonated. And I think the fact that when that future didn’t come to pass, for a lot of us, we held on to this subconsciously as this sort of icon of a tomorrow that never existed in a way.”Jeffrey Morris
