‘The Eagle Obsession’  Wins “Raw Breakthrough Award” at Raw Science Film Festival 2025

New York City – October 2025

This past weekend in New York, The Eagle Obsession was honored with the Raw Breakthrough Award at the 2025 Raw Science Film Festival—an achievement that marks an important moment in the film’s journey.

Director Jeffrey Morris and co-producer Denise Grika accepted the award in person at the ceremony, alongside a gathering of scientists, filmmakers and engaged audiences. The festival, held at theFlorence Gould Hall in Manhattan, celebrates film and media that “humanize science and bring fact-based experts to the forefront of popular culture.”

Why The Eagle Obsession Was Recognized

According to both festival listings and the film’s announcement, the award was given in recognition of the film’s “ability to break through and reach a large demographic of people to inspire interest and curiosity about a scientific topic.” The jury’s decision reflects the documentary’s extended reach—not only engaging sci-fi fans but drawing in families, educators, and general audiences.

Festival Response

Attendees described the film as “visually stunning and profoundly human,” enjoying its unique mix of childhood wonder, cinematic craft and scientific ambition. One audience member revealed they had never identified as a sci-fi fan—but left feeling deeply moved by the narrative of imagination turned into action.

What This Means for Us
  • This award adds key prestige heading into our next major phase at the American Film Market (AFM) in November, giving new leverage in discussions with sales companies and streaming platforms.
  • It reinforces the film’s strategy—not only as genre fare, but as a multi-generational story with broad appeal.
  • The recognition strengthens our brand extension efforts (such as the forthcoming Beyond The Eagle Obsession segment and the FutureDude model kits) by showing tangible momentum and credibility.
A Word from the Filmmaker

“Winning this special award at RSFF validated my belief that this film isn’t just for sci-fi fans—it’s for anyone who’s ever looked up and wondered what’s next.”
